Salmi and Company, Inc. is a family owned, fully insured small business with exceptionally talented employees providing quality ship repair and parts. The business began in April 1997 and has provided many ship repair services as you will see on our next page titled "Job Profiles."
The company President, Steve Salmi, retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in February 1997 as Chief Warrant Officer (CW04) in the Naval Engineering field with over 26 years of service. He gained theory of equipment repair through Coast Guard attended schools. Ship and equipment repair was obtained through "hands on" experience during multiple shipboard tours in the Coast Guard. This experience affords him the familiarity with Coast Guard dockside availabilities, shipboard repairs, shipboard personnel and the need to complete work items "ON TIME" and preventing delays.
The strength of a company's prosperity starts with the owners and the selection of the employees. We strive for honest, hardworking, competent and experienced personnel. Our mechanics are only 1st Class Marine Engineers, with our senior mechanic having over 20 years of experience in the Merchant Marines. Although the company is small, we can provide a work force to accomplish just about any contract need.
The company also has a trained and certified Shipyard Competenet Person to support confined space entry work such as tank, void cleaning and inspections.
